For my project I am going to examine a local ticket agency called ‘Ticket Master’. ‘Ticket master’ is a local entertainment company, with over 500 clients locally, selling over hundreds of tickets a year. ‘Ticket master’ have links to various parts of Britain. Such as;- London, Birmingham, Cardiff etc . However, the design of their system has presented many problems in the past. Such as mix-up in tickets, wrong addresses etc. To discover the problems that arise I need to investigate how the business is ran.

I will do this by various methods, such as observation, interviews and questionnaires. I am going to observe how employees of ‘Ticket master’ manage their business. I will do this by visiting the site of their company, recording the conduct of their work. An advantage of observing is that I should be able to achieve an insight into most problems encountered. The disadvantages of observation are that it is time-consuming, and the fact that I would be present when people are working might make them carry out things differently than they would usually.

To conduct interviews I will compose a selection of questions to ask an employee, concerning the running of the business. I could ask more than one employer in case one person encounters different problems when compared with another. An advantage of interviewing is that I am able to get a personal opinion off the employers of any problems, however conducting interviews is going to be very time-consuming. I will compile an arrangement of questions concerning the running of the business.

If I ask every employee that manages the business, I will be able to place all these results together and produce an all over assessment of how the business is run, and what problems are encountered. An advantage of compiling questionnaires, like interviews, is that they are quick and easy, they can be asked to a lot of people and the questions can be answered with a more honest opinion, as the questionnaires can be anonymous.

Also I am able to achieve personal opinions off employees and gather as much information about the problems encountered with the business. Also it should not be that time-consuming. After considering all methods on how to find out the problems that occur I have decided to opt for the questionnaires. With all this method of investigation I should be able to present an analysis showing all problems that arise with ‘Ticket master’. I will then be able suggest options of how I am able to overcome these problems.
