In example one I will be looking at Marketing and Sales, Research and Development and Production The sector Marketing and Sales research what the public want that could improve existing products or help to make a new product. The sector Research and Development take the information from Marketing and Sales and look into the research more and then develop the product and make a prototype of the product to test it out. The sector Production produces the product in large quantities for the public to buy. All of these functional areas are linked and help the activity of Ikea because the sector Marketing and Sales research and listen to customers about producing new and better products; this means more sales and more profit within the business.
Example Two In example two I will be looking at Research and Development, Finance and Production. The sector Research and Develop research products and develop them and then make a prototype. The sector Finance comes up with the cost of producing the product in bulk. The sector Production will see if it is worth making and if it is they will produce it in bulk. All of these functional areas are linked and help the activity of Ikea because it will help save money within the business by looking at costs and making a prototype to see if the product actually works.
Example Three In example Three I will be looking at Marketing and Sales, Human Recourses and Finance. If there is a job opening in the sector Marketing and Sales they must contact the sector Human Recourses. The sector Human Recourses will try to find recruit the best employees, which are trained and fully qualified. If the sector Human Recourses finds an employee, the sector Finance will then try to work out their pay slip. All of these functional areas are linked and help the activity of Ikea because it helps the business to become fully staffed, and if they are fully staffed they will have more people helping them to make money. Example Four In example Four I will be looking at Production, Customer Service and Finance.
The sector Production may produce a faulty product that leads to recall in products. This means the sector Customer Service must collect the faulty product. The finance department must then pay reimbursement to the people who purchased the product. All of these functional areas are linked and help the activity of Ikea because they all try to satisfy customers. Example Five In example Five I will be looking at Finance, Administration and ICT. The sector Finance must pay employees of Ikea a salary or wage. The department Administration would then do their job they are paid to do.
ICT is the most common thing used in Administration for example paper work and letters. All of these functional areas are linked and help the activity of Ikea because the workers need to be paid and most work is now done on the computer because it is much easier. Example Six In example Six I will be looking at Research and Development, Marketing and Sales, Finance, ICT and Administration. The department Research and Development may develop a new product, which needs to be advertised for the public. Marketing and Sales will come up with ideas on how to advertise the product. The Finance department will then provide money to the ICT department to produce an advert for the public to see.
The ICT department will then follow the suggestions from Research and Development to make an advert. Administration will then give the public leaflets, posters or a catalogue by posting it to the local area or by putting ads in a well Known newspaper or magazine. All of these functional areas are linked and help the activity of Ikea because Ikea can promote their products which means more customers will buy the product then their will be more profit within the business.
