Company and a franchise
The Edmonton Green library is ran by the Enfield Council; providing more libraries publicly for local members in Enfield highway, South Gate, Winchmore, Ridge Avenue, Bullsmoore, palmers green, bush hill park, Southgate circus, and weir hall. The Edmonton green library provides services locally for local members of the Edmonton community. The library offers opening times from Mondays to Saturdays. It is an open learning centre providing homework centre by providing homework clubs , word processing, and access to the internet, DVD’s, videos, PS2s, CDs, CD-Roms, laser colour copying and teen zone.
The Edmonton Green library is a public sector organisation. Therefore the library is owned and controlled by the local councils and central government. This makes the library a non-making profit making organisation. Due to this reason this is why the aims and objectives differ from a profit making company. For example; sole traders, partnerships, Private Limited Company, Public Limited Company and a franchise.
The library relies on the Enfield council. The Enfield council purchases them with the needs of the local public members such as; books, computers, paper, access to the internet, etc… the library is a non-making profit making organisation. However, the library gets their income from the central government, council tax, unified business rate, fees and rents and borrowed money. It is their duty to invest a share of the money income on services such as local libraries.
This ownership is suited to the Edmonton green library because the library’s aim is to provide its local members the education and facilities they need in order to provide them with the needs that they might not have access to back at home. The local council gets their income from the central government, council tax, unified business rate, fees and rents and borrowed money. It is their duty to invest a share of the money income on services such as local libraries. One of the libraries objectives is to conduct the library orientation for students and other members of the community to encourage an understanding and appreciation of a wide range of resource materials and their use.
